Mid-January: Visual Rhetoric and Current Events
One item in current events related to visual rhetoric is the discussion over the recent shooting in Arizona. Some commentators are partially blaming the heated political rhetoric of recent years for fanning the flames of hatred in this country. One visual image pointed out by some commentators after the shooting, is a graphic created on Sarah Palin's web site (now taken down) which shows gun cross hairs depicted on congressional districts of "the opposition." One of those districts is that of victim Gabrielle Giffords.
